Philoptochos is the philanthropic arm of our Greek Orthodox Church. The ladies of our chapter (Saints Anargyroi) work hard and many times unnoticed, but with love, support and cooperation in order to accomplish each year’s goals.

All our beautiful events are accompanied by our main reason of existence, our generous contributions to those less fortunate. Here are some of our chapter’s offerings this year:

• Contributor to the Emergency Social Services Fund of our Metropolis of NJ

• Financial assistance and food cards to needy cases in our community

• Fulfilled Commitments to Ecumenical Patriarchate, Saint Basil Academy, Saint Michael’s Home for the Aged and Saint Photios Shrine

• HOPE for Human Trafficked Women Project contribution

• Christmas Gifts provided to NJ families in need

• Greek School Scholarship

• Saint Jude Children’s Research

• Hellenic College/Holy Cross

• UNICEF

• Deborah Hospital

• Aid to Greece/Cyprus

• Meals on Wheels

• National Forum of Greek Orthodox Church Musicians

We cannot forget that none of the above would be possible without the work, interest, and endorsement of all of you, as well as all the women who laid the foundation before us, so we can continue building and working for our Lord.

New Members are always welcome, so please consider joining Philoptochos and make a difference to someone’s life today! The first meeting since the pandemic sidelined us is on Sunday, July 18, Noon, after the Divine Liturgy. Hope to see all the familiar as well as new faces there!
